Introducing the New African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights

This special edition of the AFLA Quarterly is a comprehensive introduction of the newly established African Court on Human and Peoples’ Rights. It is inspired by Africa Legal Aid’s firm hope in African Human Rights initiatives and its vision and mission to support African Human Rights institutions to become effective protectors and promoters of human rights on the African continent. With the introduction of this regional court with a specific continental mandate to enforce human rights, this edition of the AFLA Quarterly addresses issues as to the identity of this new institution, what it has to offer and how it can function harmoniously alongside other existent mechanisms.
